NMSG 44th Business Meeting at the National Defence Academy in Vienna

On the 21-23 October 2019, the Austrian National Defence Academy hosted the NATO Modelling & Simulation Group (NMSG) 2019 Fall Business Meeting.

Ing. Agatino Mursia, elected in the 2017 Fall Business Meeting, successfully chaired the meeting, which gathered representatives from NATO nations and partner countries, NATO agencies, and Centres of Excellence.

Composed by the MORS and MS3 working groups, and the Plenary Session, the Business Meeting drew upon current activities, the revision and decision of the future Programme of Work, the latest technical developments in M&S aspects of military decision support tools, training & education, and standardization. Among the decisions taken throughout the meeting, the NMSG also elected its future Chair and Vice-Chair, Dr. Robert Siegfried and Mrs. Julie Tremblay-Lutter, respectively, who will initiate their mandate at the end of the NMSG 2020 Spring Business Meeting.

The NMSG’s 44th Business Meeting successfully concluded with a visit to the Maria Theresean Military Academy and Diamond Aircraft Industries, where our Chairman, Ing. Agatino Mursia, the NIAG Member at Large, Jean-Pierre Faye, and NMSG Norwegian Member, Morten Kolve, had the opportunity to fly on one of Diamond’s aircrafts. We would like to thank our Austrian local coordinators, led by Colonel Wolfgang Kralicek, for their hospitality and the support given before and throughout our stay in Vienna.

The NMSG’s 45th Business Meeting will take place in the Spring of 2020, in Slovenia, and we look forward to welcome the NMSG Community once again.
