Tutorial on NATO Simulation Interoperability held on Feb 11, 2020, now available online

The tutorial on NATO Simulation Interoperability, held at the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) Simulation Innovation Workshop, February 11, 2020, can be found on the NATO Science and Technology Organization’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfBW5oVnYv0.

This tutorial is a guided tour through the topics currently addressed by NATO with respect to Simulation Interoperability Certification, Tools, and Standards for Federated Simulation.

The speakers are (in chronological order):

* Mr. Horst Behner, Branch Chief of the German Modeling & Simulation Coordination Office, German Armed Forces, Koblenz, Germany

* Mr. Björn Löfstrand is a senior systems architect at Pitch Technologies, Linköping, Sweden

* Lt. Col. Tobias Kuhn is Branch Chief of the Modeling & Simulation Services Branch at the NATO Modeling & Simulation Center of Excellence, Rome, Italy

* Mr. Reinhard Herzog is a senior systems architect and developer at Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation, Karlsruhe, Germany

The first part of the tutorial is a short overview and an introduction to the topics presented. Then you will hear about current updates on AMSP-04 standard on “NETN Federation Architecture and FOM Design (NETN FAFD)”. The presenter shows in detail how the work on different modules of this standard greatly improves federated simulation. The third part of the tutorial is dedicated to verification, testing, and certification of HLA compliant systems. In the fourth and last part, you will learn about our newly developed Integration, Verification and Certification Tool (IVCT) and the certification process that ensures the correct and reliable implementation and use of the HLA standard.

The next two tutorials, each with a specifically designed focus depending on the audience, will take place at the CA²X² Forum 2020 (22-24 Sep, Rome, ITA) and at the I/ITSEC 2020 event (30 Nov - 4 Dec, Orlando, FL, USA).
