Background

SEAD is an essential capability to enable NATO operations in non-permissive environments. Currently SEAD is delivered by individual nations with limited sharing of information, resulting in significant interoperability challenges. NATO Aerospace Capability Group 3 Sub-Group 2 (ACG3/SG2) are developing a road map to deliver a joint NATO SEAD capability. This activity provides scientific support to ACG3/SG2 to help deliver the SEAD roadmap and resulting operational capability.

Objectives

- Hold a workshop with NATO ACG3/SG2 in December 2016 to identify how the scientific community can support the SEAD roadmap and maintain an overview - Liaise with relevant NATO groups including: SET & SAS Panels, SEAD Working Group

The following technical topics will be covered and new RTGs instigated if required (not limited to): - Operational analysis for SEAD in a NATO context (SAS Panel) - Sensor management - Congested EM spectrum - Spectrum situational awareness - Cognitive EW - Communication - Interference mitigation - Joint mission planning tools
