Assessment, Camouflage, CCD, Concealment, Deception, Modelling and Simulation, MS, Obscuration, Survivability

Background

Modelling and Simulation is dependent on high quality input by measurements. To improve the exchange of these two areas of work, a common workshop is proposed to enhance the cooperation and the mutual understanding of the requirements and limitations. This should result in better assessment of camouflage means for the survivability of NATO soldiers and assets. The purpose of the workshop is to combine the works of previous groups (SCI-287 and SCI-295)

Objectives

The objective of the Workshop is to combine the efforts of different communities of interest towards a common standard of global survivability assessment. Focus will be on electro-optical spectral bands and the assessment of land based targets within backgrounds and the susceptibility to be detected by airborne platforms.

Topics

(1) Implementation of realistic camouflage means within modelling & simulation tools for assessment effort (2) Exchange of knowledge regarding the needs of modelling & simulation and measured data available or producible (3) Define current and future gaps in this combined field of expertise.
