The National Coordinator is an individual designated by his nation to facilitate his nation's participation in the STO and assist his national Science & Technology Board (STB) delegation.

His tasks consist of:

  1. Coordination of STO activities with their National Board Members, and, in particular, their Principal National Board Member.
  2.  Coordination of STO Panel/Group activities with their National Panel/Group Members, and, in particular, their Principal National Panel/Group Members.
  3. Coordination with the STO Leadership and staff.
  4. Coordination of all STO Collaborative Network meetings hosted by their nation and, for each meeting, designation of a Local Coordinator that will manage all necessary local administrative arrangements.
  5. Administrative arrangements for participation of their delegates in STO collaborative activities.
  6. Administration of their nation’s participation in the Consultant and Exchange Programme and the Support Programme sponsored by the CSO.
  7. Coordination of matters concerning STO publications with the National Distribution Centre(s) in their nation.
  8. Coordination of matters concerning Partner nation and Contact Country nationals’ participation to STO collaborative activities hosted by their nation.
  9. Coordination of STO public relations matters, in close cooperation with their National Board Members, National Panel/Group Members and the STO Leadership and staff.
  10. Participation in the National Coordinators' Committee Meetings.
