Title: Range design and management for sustainable live fire training ranges
Start_Publishing: 19/03/2021
Panel_Page: AVT
Page_ID: 3799
Main_Body_Multi: The Connected Forces Initiative is a major NATO thrust that will require more extensive use of training ranges. However, there is a concern that this increased tempo of training will adversely affect our ranges.

Having this in mind, the Applied Vehicle Technology (AVT) Panel’s Research Specialists’ Meeting (RSM) on “Range design and management for sustainable live fire training ranges” will bring together experts in the field of range design and management for better sustainability and range’s stakeholders, which will allow the transfer of information with the audience gained within AVT-291.

This RSM will further exchange information on current practices and research on the topics of military training range design and management to minimize environmental impacts.

The meeting is to be held virtually on 13-15 April 2021 and is open to NATO, EOP, PfP and MD Nations plus Brazil, Japan, and New Zealand. The online enrolment has been recently opened on the STO events Website. For further information, please contact the AVT Panel Office.
