Title: Predictive Analysis of Adversarial Cyber Behavior
Start_Publishing: 04/05/2021

Main_Body_Multi: Traditional approaches for gaining cyber domain situational awareness seldom consider factors associated with adversary’s capabilities and behaviors. IST-129 Research Task Group (RTG) intends to show that, if these factors are taken into consideration, multiple and cooperative analytic approaches can predict exploitation of known vulnerabilities even if the attack pattern is previously unknown. Furthermore, this RTG has been established to show that such predictions shorten the window of opportunity and provide timely mission impact alerts to operators and commanders. This approach moves cyber defense from reactive to proactive and helps maintain NATO and National security. IST-129 is laying the foundation for future technologies and approaches, thus enabling cyber defenders to anticipate and effectively counter attack paths of the cyber adversary.
