Main_Body_Multi: Today, John-Mikal Størdal takes over the role of Director of the NATO Science & Technology Organization’s (STO) Collaboration Support Office (CSO), taking over from Dr. Pavel Zuna who has moved to a new role at the Military Technical Institute (VTUSP) of the Czech Republic where he will continue to be closely associated with the STO.


Mr. Størdal has an extensive background in engineering which includes underwater warfare, systems engineering, navigation, and combat management systems.


Prior to joining the CSO, Mr. Størdal held the role of Director General of the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), after serving in various other leadership roles at the FFI since joining in 1989.


Since 2012, he has also been the Norwegian representative on the NATO Science & Technology Board (STB) and the European Defence Agency (EDA) R&T Steering Board.
