Main_Body_Multi: IST-ET-121 Exploratory Team on Identification of anomalies through behavior profiling of IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) has made its way to become the major communication and sensor platform in military networks, but these devices also represent a threat as they can be impersonated or spoofed, leading to major risks. NATO has identified factors in current S&T trends that are shaped in nature by being intelligent, interconnected, distributed and digital (I2D2). The focus of IST-ET-121 involves the advancement of behavior profiling efforts at the intersection of these four areas in order to detect misbehaving devices. It includes the development of concepts focused on enhancing the capability of military networks, augmented by focused advances in distributed machine learning and inference. Other NATO efforts exist in the areas of both networks and communications and ML/DL (Machine learning and Deep Learning), but this activity focuses on advancing the understanding of networked system behavior profiling using ML/DL.
