From 9 to13 May 2022, the Italian Air Force Officers Club (Casa dell’Aviatore) in Rome, hosted the 49th NATO Modelling & Simulation Group (NMSG) Business Meeting (BM). Representatives from 17 NATO Nations, four Partner countries, 10 NATO Organizations and Centres of Excellence and one external organization attended the meeting held in a hybrid format. Throughout the week, the NMSG conducted subgroups and plenary sessions that, among other topics, included a revision of current Programme of Work, proposals for its development and invited presentations. The Plenary session started with a keynote speech provided remotely by Mr Robert Weaver, the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment. The BM week also included a Workshop on “Federated CD&E and Battle Labs” and a technical visit to Leonardo SpA. The BM concluded with NMSG expressing their thanks to Mrs Julie Tremblay (CAN) for her two years of faithful service as the NMSG Vice-Chair and welcomed her successor, Mr Bharat Patel (GBR). The 50th NMSG Business Meeting, in conjunction with the NMSG Annual Symposium 2022 on "Emerging and Disruptive Modelling and Simulation Technologies to Transform Future Defence Capabilities" is planned to be held on 17-21 October 2022 in Bath, GBR.
