Technological and Operational Problems Connected with UGV Application for Future Military Operations

STO-MP-AVT-241

AVT-241 aimed at employing UGV to address some of the future NATO operational issues dealing with complexities of urban areas. With the established scope, the Meeting organizer invited UGV specialists to submit technical papers for considerations as meeting presentations. Sixteen papers were selected (excluding those accepted but withdrew) after a thorough review process. The Meeting organizer also orchestrated two keynote speeches and a demonstration session. The emphases of the keynote speeches were UGV functional requirements and M&S, respectively. Both are key UGV technology areas. The demonstrations showcased some of the ongoing research and development efforts aiming at advancing relevant UGV capabilities. The presentations support NATO warfare from their respective but integrated perspectives, including user provided articulation of functional requirements, system conceptualization, modeling, simulation, development, standardization, metrics/measures formulation, and fielding for the UGV. They are described in detail in the TER.
