Analysis of hybrid warfare and Russia’s actions in Ukraine has led to a significant body of classified and unclassified material, almost none of which accounts for the first-hand experiences and expertise of Ukrainian military and government personnel. This report examines the war in Ukraine as a case study, and specifically focuses on the capture and analysis of relevant strategic, operational, and tactical level events as experienced by Ukrainian personnel. The experiences of these personnel yield valuable insight into the modalities of warfare undertaken by Russia, the corresponding responses by Ukraine, and the effectiveness of the responses. This unique contribution to the literature helps to provide greater insight to the conflict in Ukraine, has increased the practical ties between NATO and Ukraine, and supports objectives of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Working Group on Defence-Technical Co-operation.
